On December 3rd, 2021, I visited Mr Fernando to give him some money to rebuild a house since his current one is litterally crumbling on him.

Fernando is alone, handicapped (can’t walk) and extremely poor. Fernando suffers of hunger constantly because not many people visit or help him get food or anything else. I am one of the rare people who visit him and I make sure to see him at least once, every time I get to that area of the Nyakokombo, in Cameroon.

We finally got Fernando his very first tricycle wheelchair 2 months ago. He was very happy as he has been asking for one for years so he can move around faster than dragging himself on the floor by his bottom. or finding someone to push him on his wheelbarrow. Receiving the wheelchair was like Christmas for him!

But last October, we found out that the rainy season this year has been damaging his fragile house even worse. The house is barely standing as you can see on the pictures..

Yesterday, I went to see Fernando to give him enough money to build a brand new plank house. It’s nothing fancy but it means A LOT to him. It mostly means a secured shelter covering him from the rain, the sun, the wind and the wild animals.
